Companies certified as Benefit Corporations are called the best for the world, and their business model is based primarily on a sustainable development strategy that supports, among others, environmental protection, public education and a partnership model of cooperation with stakeholders. Benefit Systems joins the international community of B Crop as the first public company in Central and Eastern Europe and the only company with Polish lineage.
There are over 2.5 thousand companies in 150 industries in the world that have been awarded the B Corp certificate by the American NGO B Lab. B Corp aims to create a new definition of business success measured by social engagement. The group of B Corp companies includes organizations that act and engage in solving the most important social problems, and the basis of their functioning is a partnership model of cooperation with all stakeholders based on the overriding principle of "win-win". Currently, the only company in Poland awarded the B Corp certificate is the Benefit Systems company, which operates on the non-financial benefit market and is the creator of the MultiSport sport and recreation program.
- B Lab Europe is excited to welcome Benefit Systems to the global movement of Certified B Corporations. As the first Public company to certify in Europe, Benefit Systems is pioneering a better way to do business that will certainly inspire other companies to follow in their footsteps - Nathan Gilbert, Executive Director of B Lab Europe.
Benefit Systems is the only public company in this part of Europe.
B Corp in practice
Although any company, regardless of structure or industry, can apply for B Corp status, the majority of certified enterprises are small and medium-sized organizations. Benefit Systems is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and also has subsidiaries operating in Poland and abroad whose business system influences the company's assessment during the certification process.
- We are glad that there is a movement of companies focusing on taking responsibility for the impact on the environment. We are proud that we managed to meet the requirements and after almost 2 years of work we could join this group. We want to propagate this concept among other entrepreneurs and companies that want to change the world for the better - Izabela Walczewska-Schneyder while receiving the certificate.
Social responsibility inscribed into the MultiSport card
- Benefit Systems has been working for an active lifestyle and human development for many years. We believe that greater activity means more energy and health for everyone of all ages. Our partners, with whom we work on the principle of win-win, that is, seeking mutual benefits, have been assisting us in implementing this idea for many years. - says Izabela Walczewska-Schneyder, member of the Benefit Systems Management Board.
Benefit Systems, offering non-financial benefits (sports, cultural and entertainment programs as well as cafeteria programs), supports Employers in creating attractive jobs. It also helps them to reduce employment costs resulting, for example, from less sick leave for employees who are physically active. Employees and their families, thanks to the Benefit Systems programs, have easier access to sports and cultural attractions. Partners - Polish local entrepreneurs running recreational and sports centers who provide their services in the programmes offered by Benefit Systems also benefit from cooperation. As the company's management board emphasizes, the company cooperates on the MultiSport program with four thousand partners, to which most of its monthly revenue goes. The partners use Benefit Systems financial and training support programs, thanks to which they develop their services and business competences. The company's flagship product, the MultiSport card, has nearly one million users in Poland, and according to research, 78% of them declare that the sports card has a positive effect on the frequency of physical activity.
Employees, environment and local communities
As part of the B Lab certification, they conduct a detailed analysis of the company's operations and its environment. To get a certificate, a company must score a certain minimum number of points in several categories.
The following are taken into account: way of treating employees, positive impact on the environment and implementation of specific social goals. Benefit Systems received the best result, among others, in the analysis of employment policy, the index of community support and in the area of environmental protection.
- In our everyday work, we create an environment that is open to creativity and diversity. We make sure that our employees feel comfortable and have the opportunity to grow. We have a clear employment policy, a wide range of benefits. Respect and mutual support are values that accompany us every day - says Izabela Walczewska-Schneyder.
Since 2015, the company has been running a social programme that supports organizations or people in need - Dobry MultiUczynek. To date, over 70 volunteer projects have been implemented, which were initiated by the company's employees. In September this year, the project was also opened for the first time to ideas and social involvement of external MultiSport card users. Benefit Systems is also the founder and originator of educational projects supporting physical activity among children, ie "Active MultiSport Schools", which this year involved 10,000 children. The MultiSport Senior card, in turn, supports the activity of older people, increasing their comfort of living on a daily basis. Benefit Systems strives to operate in an environmentally friendly manner, thanks to the premises that meet the strict ecological standards and the use of solutions limiting the production of waste paper and electricity consumption.
