Over a million Poles train thanks to the support of their employers

According to the data provided by Benefit Systems, the MultiSport programme is already used by over 1,046,600 Poles across the country. Sports cards offered as part of non-wage benefits are an important element in the fight against immobility and diseases of affluence, as Poles remain one of the least active societies in the European Union.

The MultiSport programme offered by Benefit Systems is one of the most popular benefits among employees. According to Sedlak&Sedlak, in Poland 49.4% of employees receiving non-wage benefits use sports cards (“Additional benefits in the eyes of employees 2019 report”). In the last quarter, sports and recreational activities available as part of the MultiSport card were undertakne by 1,046,600 people in Poland and 286,400 people on foreign markets. This means that 1,333,000 employees in total use the MultiSport programme.

We are pleased that employers intensively support physical activity of their employees. During the year there were over 236,000 MultiSport cards issued, of which 127,000 in our country – explains Emilia Rogalewicz, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems responsible for the cards sale in Poland. – More and more people are aware that physical activity is a way to improve health and maintain a good quality of life. According to the MultiSport Index 2019 survey, it is health that currently mobilises 43% of Poles to exercise and is the most common reason for undertaking physical activity.

According to the MultiSport Index 2019 survey conducted by Kantar, as many as 64% of Poles are physically active. It is 2% more than in 2018. The involvement of the most active Poles is growing – as many as 19% of them exercise five times a week. This increase is driven by the widespread availability of sports cards.

Thanks to the MultiSport card, employees and their families have access to various sports infrastructure, which has a positive impact on the level of physical activity among Poles. Card users have more opportunities to learn about different forms of physical activity and choose the one in which they feel the best. The MultiSport programme users' declarations show that as many as 78% of them are active more often thanks to the card and 68% exercise differently, engaging in new types of training – emphasises Adam Radzki, Management Board Member at Benefit Systems.
