87% of millennials admit that renowned brands should focus more on being better for the world and more and more employers build employees’ engagement by involving them in social programmes. According to the Public Opinion Research Centre (CBOS), 11% of Poles get involved in activities for children in need and 9.6% of them devote their time to social work in organisations that help adults, including sick, disabled and poor.
According to the Human Capital Trends 2018 survey, one of HR “megatrends” is fulfilling a social mission. Polish respondents mention financial support for selected charity organisations as programmes which are realised in their companies most often (56%). According to the authors of the report, in the last five years the importance of this kind of programmes in Polish companies has increased. It may results from the more and more common belief that a business success cannot only be measured by financial results. According to the Deloitte report, as many as 87% of millennials believe that money is not everything. It turns out that helping people in need is not only an element of a CSR strategy but also brings evident benefits for employees and is a driving force of their efficiency. As the “How Volunteerism Shapes Professional Success” study by Power Skills indicates, the skills developed thanks to volunteering programmes include leadership (83%), interpersonal communication (78%), financial management (73%), patience (69%) and problems solving (62%).
– We can see a great mobilisation to help in our company and every realised volunteering initiative is a reason to start another one. Within our Dobry MultiUczynek programme we have realised more than 80 volunteering and philanthropic initiatives across Poland so far. The potential of such activities is huge and so this year we have decided to join forces with MultiSport Card users who, with our financial support, can answer real needs of local communities with regards to physical activity – says Rafał Mikołajczyk, Communication and CSR Vice Director at Benefit Systems.
The first edition of the Dobry MultiUczynek volunteering and philanthropic programme for MultiSport Card users (917 200 in Poland at the moment) was launched in September. MultiSport Card users who have an idea for a social project that supports or promotes physical activity could present their initiatives and receive financial resources to make them happen. Initially the Chapter selected 10 projects and Internet users voted for 6 winning projects:
