Fit Invest to buy 9 fitness clubs in the south of Poland

Today, Fit Invest Sp. z o.o., a company from the Benefit Systems Group, has signed a conditional contract with Platinium Wellness sp. z o.o. for the purchase of 9 fitness clubs. According to the Contract, the network of the Benefit Systems investment clubs will be joined by 5 clubs in Kraków, and one in Zabrze, Sosnowiec, Bielsko-Biała and Opole. The transaction value will amount to PLN 38.6 million.

These clubs so far operated under the name of Fitness Platinium (Kraków) and SmartGym (Silesia and Opole). As from October 01, 2017, they will form a separate network under the name of My Fitness Place (http://myfitnessplace.pl/). The new brand belongs to Fitness Place sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Fit Invest Sp. z o.o. This network’s first club was opened in Kraków last month at ul. Osiedle na Lotnisku 3.

The existing customers who are subscription card holders will be able to remain in the Fitness Platinium network and attend the other clubs of this network, or sign a new membership agreement with My Fitness Place. Moreover, unlimited access to these clubs will be granted to MultiSport card holders, whose number in Poland has already reached 803 thousand. Over time, the new clubs will offer additional activities and sports classes. The employees at the taken-over clubs have a guaranteed job security.

By joining the new clubs to the investment network of Benefit Systems, the company continues to pursue its development strategy. ‘Launching these clubs under our brand, we want to provide access to an adequate training base for the Users of our sports cards’, says Ms Izabela Walczewska-Schneyder, President of the Management Board at Fit Invest Sp. z o.o. ‘This will certainly improve the availability of the clubs and expand the offer of sporting activities in the urban agglomerations of Kraków and Silesia. Our objective is to support and promote an active and healthy lifestyle.'

A few dozen investment clubs in the biggest cities in Poland currently owned by the company are perfectly complemented by the network of about 4,000 partner sports facilities available to the holders of MultiSport cards – the company’s flagship product. After incorporating the new clubs, the share of Benefit Systems in the local fitness market, both in Kraków and in Silesia, will not exceed 10%. Since the turnover of the taken-over clubs did not exceeded EUR 10 million within the two years preceding the transaction, the regulator’s consent is not required for the transaction to take place.
